By improving the use of ourselves, we regain the power to navigate through life with more ease and to consciously choose how we do what we do. This group is open to women of any age, and is particularly beneficial to those individuals who lead active lives, but have experienced some injury or physical trauma that has compromised their ability to move with confidence and freedom.  Together we will reconnect with the wisdom of our own bodies and minds and regain a sense of poise, grace, inner calm, self-knowing that supports our work and service in the world.

Students should have a basic understanding of the Alexander Technique and have received at least 10 individuals with me or another certified teacher to qualify. I do however take students new to the work provided that they are a good fit, and show a commitment to work on themselves with additional private lessons if needed (at my recommendation). Due to the Kinesthetic and sensorial re-awakening process of this work, it is common for deeply buried psycho-physical experiences to rise to the surface. While the practice itself provides the space to attend to oneself within the group these experiences often provide opportunity to move beyond self imposed beliefs. Private sessions are the safest container to work with personal issues. (If you are uncomfortable with group work please consider a series of Private Lessons (see * below).

*Due to the focused nature of this class, you must be committed to attending at least 4 out of 6 of the groups. There are no refunds or make-ups for missed lessons unless arrangements are made with Katie. Private lessons are available to support a deeper understanding of one's own body issues and address personal challenges that can no be addressed in class. Supplemental Private lessons are offered at a special discounted rate.
